TRX-SiO₂-2025 — Fe₂O₃ ≤ 100 ppm guaranteed, independently sampled on every shipment. FOB Taboneo anchorage, Indonesia.
Trionex holds exclusive marketing and supply rights for Europe, the Middle East and the United States for TRX-SiO₂-2025, a washed silica sand from East Kalimantan, Indonesia. It is supplied for container, float, foundry and specialty glass in geared Supramax parcels of approximately 50,000 MT.
For flint container glass and clear float, iron is the constraint that decides colour and transmission. What costs a batch house money is not the absolute figure but the variance around it: sand that runs at 60 ppm one parcel and 140 ppm the next forces reformulation and produces glass that drifts. A ceiling that holds on every shipment is worth more than a lower average with no provenance behind it.
Alumina sits at ≤ 0.05 %, low and consistent, so alumina enters the batch deliberately through feldspar rather than arriving as an uncontrolled variable.
| Property | Guaranteed |
|---|---|
| SiO₂ | ≥ 99.5 % |
| Fe₂O₃ | ≤ 100 ppm |
| Al₂O₃ | ≤ 0.05 % |
| Grain size | 20–140 mesh |
| LOI | per shipment COA |
These are guaranteed values, not typical ones. We publish no typical figures and no averaged chemistry, because a number that cannot be held on every parcel is not a specification. Loss on ignition and full sieve analysis are reported on the certificate of analysis issued with each shipment.
Every shipment is sampled at loadout by an independent international surveyor and analysed at an accredited laboratory. The certificate of analysis travels with the parcel. Buyers qualifying the material receive sealed samples drawn from current production under the same protocol, not retained reference material.
Flint, and coloured ware where iron consistency governs batch stability.
Standard clear float, with a guaranteed iron ceiling on every parcel.
Moulding and core sand where a consistent grain distribution and low binder demand matter more than headline chemistry.
Technical and container-adjacent applications qualified case by case against the shipment certificate.
European glass sand supply is concentrated in a small number of origins. A qualified second source outside that concentration is supply risk mitigation before it is anything else.
Material is barged from a private jetty in East Kalimantan and transferred to geared Supramax vessels at Taboneo anchorage, South Kalimantan, which is the FOB point. Cargo is declared under IMSBC Group A with TML and moisture certification issued per voyage.
The operation we source from generates site power from solar and recirculates process water rather than drawing continuously. These are the operator's figures.
